 We spent one night in Wadi Rum before beginning our journey to Petra. Wadi Rum boasts spectacular desert scenery & is well worth a visit if you are in the area. Its claim to fame is the fact the the film Lawrence of Arabia was filmed in part here.

We took a quick tour of the area in a truck with a local guide, and afterwards spent the night in tents at the visitor center. We were the only tourists there which made the whole trip that much more pleasant.
